After sponsoring the Southern Oregon Sparrows Club for several years and witnessing all of the good it does, I couldn't say no any longer. Now, with just one week away from the big competition, my dance coach Brett Alleman and I are putting the finishing touches on our Argentine Tango.

We're also in the final days of fundraising. THIS SUNDAY (Nov. 6), the incredible owners of Mix Coffee have agreed to give $1 from every item sold between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. toward the cause. Brett and I will personally be there serving up all of the delicious treats on their menu so come on by, say hi and donate!   How could you NOT want to support an organization that provides financial and emotional support for children and their families in medical need, all while empowering kids (elementary to college age) to help others through charitable service in their communities?!

In addition to raising money for the Sparrow Clubs program in Southern Oregon, a portion of ticket proceeds from the show will also be used to help promote the art of ballroom dance in our Southern Oregon communities.

Whether you can make it to Mix Coffee this Sunday, or not, you can always donate via our website. I want to win this dance competition AND I want to raise the most money of any of the other dance teams!

Yesterday morning, along with a couple of the other dance teams, we had the pleasure of visiting with some local DJs at the BiCoastal Radio group to talk about what we are doing and why. Don Hurley of KOOL FM's Hurley in the Morning has also been a longtime supporter of Sparrow Clubs.

Along with Don, we reached out to listeners and fans of KISS FM's Gemineye and 100.3's QCrew. Did you hear us? We did a little competitive trash talking between us and had a lot of fun.

My daughter introduced me to Sparrow Clubs and I’ve sponsored Crater High’s Sparrows for four years. It is important to me to help children in need and to help kids learn to think of others and to be grateful for their own lives. I hope you'll join us.
